Remote Assistance

Q: How will I be charged?
A: When you sign up for our service, you will get a 14 day trial. When that trial is over, you will receive a bill via email for your first month of service. Going forward, you will get a bill each month for the next month of service. Customers requesting yearly billing will receive one bill for 12 months of service, with a one month discount. You can pay your bill using a credit or debit card. We do not automatically charge our customers, unless asked. If you have a question about a bill, please ask us before paying.

Q: How much will I be charged?
A: On our sign up page, you can see the rates for our service. We will automatically send you a bill based on how much data you stored with us in the previous month. If you are storing 4GB of data with us this month, for example, your bill for the next month will be $10.

Q: What if I don’t pay on time?
A: If you do not pay with in 15 days of recieveing your bill, we will suspend your account for one month. If at the end of that month we still do not receive payment, we will remove your account from our system including any data you stored with us. We will attempt to contact you before there is a disruption in service.

Q: What can I back up with DataDoggies?
A: Anything you want! When you select a folder to be backed up, such as My Documents, everything in that folder will be automatically selected. Anything you add to that folder over time will also be automatically backed up. Unline other providers, there is no limitation on file size or type.

Q: How can DataDoggies ensure that my data is protected?
A: We developed a system to encrypt your data before it leaves your computer, which is very similar to what banks use. Once encrypted, it is sent to our facility over a secure connection. Your data remains encrypted on our equipment. Our customers manage their own encryption key, or password, so no one can recover your data except you.

Q: Will your software work on my computer?
A: We’ve developed our software to work on Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Mac. We support both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows.

Q: How much can I backup?
A: As much as you want! There is no limit to the amount of data we can store for you. Our pricing plans are very flexible and are designed to offer deep discounts to those with large data protection needs. The more you store, the more you save!

Q: I am not very computer literate, but still need my data protected. Can I get help setting up your service?
A: No problem! We offer a service that gets you up and running in no time. For a small fee one of our consultants will work with you over the phone and internet to configure our service for you. See our Sign Up page for more information.

Q: My computer was accidently ran over by a heard of wild elephants. I have a new computer now, but need to restore my data. Where do I start?
A: Well, you’ll have that. The first thing you should do is download the software from our website. Then, install it and log in with your username and password. Once there, you will be able to begin restoring your data. If you are still not sure, we offer a recovery service where one of our consultants takes care of this process for you.
